In this Senior Manager – Behavioural Science role, you will be responsible for applying behavioural science to support better household financial decisions and outcomes. You will be responsible for supporting the Group in delivering evidence-based products, services, and experiences to improve financial wellbeing.

The Behavioural Science team is responsible for bringing the latest behavioural science insights and research methods into the CBA Group, and maximising the impact of these insights on important initiatives through rigorous empirical methods.
While our team provides a supportive environment to grow as a behavioural science researcher and practitioner, our work spans across the Group, providing opportunities to work alongside industry-leading User Experience, Data Science and Strategy teams.
Key Responsibilities
Identifying opportunities where behavioural science can drive disproportionate impact to customer, community and business outcomes
Communicating scientific insights and project outputs to executive leaders and Balancing priorities across stakeholder groups
Designing and executing large-scale randomised controlled trials, Producing and presenting rigorous research outputs
Serving as a subject matter expert for business units across the Group and Consulting on a wide-range of projects in the financial services industry
Producing thought-pieces and literature reviews for industry professionals and Advising on empirical strategies and experimental design
Managing teams, partnerships, budgets, timelines and maintaining research integrity and ensuring data quality across projects
Contributing to the uplift of behavioural science capabilities across the Group and Keeping up-to-date with the latest evidence and emerging trends in behavioural science literature
We are interested to hear from you if you have
Strong familiarity with the behavioural science literature, including the relevant sub-disciplines and related disciplines (economics, psychology, behavioural economics, behavioural finance etc)..
Technical understanding of empirical methods used in social sciences (e.g. statistics; econometrics; RCTs)
Professional experience (financial services and/or management consulting experience is a plus)
Project management experience (people management and experience supporting research projects preferred)
Proven ability to communicate scientific insights clearly and concisely to an industry audience
Proficiency in using statistical programming software (R or Python preferred)
Advanced degree or capability in the behavioural, cognate or social sciences (e.g. economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, neuroscience, mathematics, computer science)
