The business unit designs, builds and sells steering column and intermediate shaft applications for direct sale to OEM’s. Responsible for sales and project management of OE projects for steering column and intermediate shaft systems from pursuit of business through aftermarket sales. Manages and leads global team activities to execute project development and change management. Coordinates with other internal functions and parent company organizations to meet customer requirements and company objectives. Develop strategy and plan measures for continued profitable growth, customer satisfaction, price management (internally and externally), commercial negotiation and global RFQ coordination.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Meets with customer representatives regionally and globally to ensure program / project objectives are being met within designated parameters.
Develop sales strategy and quotation logic for negotiations with customer
Review specifications, drawings, requirements, etc. to develop and prepare comprehensive commercial proposals.
Responsible for creating sales contracts, quotations, price breakdowns and internal sample orders for products & services.
Responsible for organizing, leading and tracking activities for the development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering changes utilizing the Bosch change process to ensure customer milestones are met.
Create the project team and assign responsibility for the different functional areas.
Develop program timelines and activity reports to drive the on-time completion of critical tasks.
Coordinate the efforts and activities between the parent company, customer and Bosch cross-functional teams to resolve issues as they arise during the course of the project.
Manage / communicate internally customer program data for forecast / planning activities.
Maintain assigned program commercial parameters including (but not limited to) sales, releases, revenue, piece price, tooling, development costs, past due payments, open order investigations and customer satisfaction.
Maintains customer contracts for accuracy to agreed parameters and communicates relevant data internally.
Manages data in customer portals and project folders.
Expected travel up to 20% of the time including some international travel.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Business
2+ years of experience: Account Management, Sales, or Program Management roles within the Automotive industry
Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Project Management preferred
Advanced strategic and analytical skills
Excellent writing, grammatical and proofing skills
Excellent presentation skills that delivers clear and concise messages
Ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature
Ability to define a goal, strategy and plan to support achievement of the department’s mission. This would include understanding of strengths and weaknesses of the organization along with its challenges, defining the priorities and strategy to fulfill specific objectives of the mission, and motivating / supporting / developing / leading their team to execute the proper plans to fulfill the mission.
Individual must possess the interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers and customers in a professional manner.
